In this workshop, through exercises and discussion, we examine the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that are holding us back, and identify new choices that allow us to live more authentic and braver lives.

Do You..

✔︎ Tend to be self-critical but want to learn to have self-compassion?

✔︎Feel like you never measure up or something is wrong with you?

✔︎Feel like vulnerability is something you have to cover up with armor - but are tired?

✔︎ Feel afraid to show up for something that causes anxiety - but want to build the courage to show up and be seen for who you are?

✔︎ Wish you had more courage when facing challenges in life?

WOMEN DARING GREATLY IS BASED is a interactive workshop based on THE RESEARCH BY Brené BrowN AND THE Daring Way™ CURRICULUM, which deals with the way shame holds us back in life and how our vulnerability is key to overcoming shame and finding our courage.

Vulnerability is not weakness, and the uncertainty, risk, and emotional exposure we face every day are not optional. Our only choice is a question of engagement. Our willingness to own and engage with our vulnerability determines the depth of our courage and the clarity of our purpose...

-Brene Brown, Daring Greatly

About Your Workshop Leader

Rebecca Seamon, M.Ed. LPC

Certified Daring Way Facilitator

Hi! My name is Rebecca and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, and Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator specializing in helping clients get emotionally “unstuck” and grow to live a life in full bloom, which means thriving instead of just surviving.

With over 15 years of experience as a counselor, I have enjoyed leading numerous groups and workshops over the years and have completed an extensive training with Dr. Brené Brown’s team to understand and teach The Daring Way™ curriculum.

In this workshop, we will explore topics such as vulnerability, courage, shame, worthiness and connection in a safe environment. As we examine thoughts, emotions and behaviors that get in the way of embracing our own authenticity, we will identify new choices and practices that will move us toward a life of joy, gratitude and wholehearted living. With self-compassion and empathy, I invite you to step out into the arena of your life.

About Brene Brown

The Daring Way™ method is based on the research of Brené Brown, Ph.D. LMSW. Dr. Brené Brown is a research professor at the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work. She has spent the past twelve years studying vulnerability, courage, worthiness, and shame, and is now using that work to explore a concept that she calls Wholeheartedness. She poses the question: How do we learn to embrace our vulnerabilities and imperfections so that we can engage in our lives from a place of authenticity and worthiness?

Brené is the author of two #1 New York Times bestsellers; Daring Greatly: How the Courage to Be Vulnerable Transforms the Way We Live, Love, Parent, and Lead (2012), and The Gifts of Imperfection (2010). She is also the author of I Thought It Was Just Me (2007).

Brené’s 2010 TEDx Houston talk “The Power of Vulnerability” is one of the top ten most viewed TED talks in the world, with over 14 million viewers. Additionally, Brené gave the closing talk at the 2012 TED conference, where she talked about shame, courage, and innovation.
